Problem recovering save file.

Hello, I bought a Wii U last week. I got pretty far in splatoon and then the gamepad had a total melt down. I returned it to the store and exchanged it for a whole new console. Beforehand I remembered to back up all my save files to a flash drive. Now I'm having a problem uploading them to the new wii. It says I need to format it for use with this particular console. But obviously if I format it I lose all my save files. I can not access the flash drive from my PC either.

 

Please tell me I'm not screwed. I already went through a nightmarish ordeal when I had to relink my nintendo network id to the replacement wii. It took several days and was just a very annoying proccess. Honesly if I cant recover my save files I'm just going to return the thing and buy an xbox. This is too much of a headache.

okay my Nintendo Wii u has a Screw jammed into the gamepad.

I finally ripped off the cover  but the other screw can be installed.

The other screw  is still stuck in my gamepad. I cant 20150705_103202.jpgremove the screw from

itout.

My wii u is like 2 in a half years old  soo i don't have a warranty..

Arkham City update will not download

I just got Arkham City and it says "An update is required to start this software. Updates can be downloaded by connecting the Wii U console to the internet." The only option is a "Back" button, but I am connected to the internet. It seems the update should start automatically, but it just says the same thing everytime. I am connected to the internet: netflix, eshop, and the internet browser are all working. The system itself is up to date. 

 

I had downloaded the game from the eshop but deleted it since it took up 18gb, but I got the disc as a gift. Any ideas for getting the update to download.

Wii U updated now won't read games

I got a new Wii u from Amazon today ( the delux set with super mario 3D world ), I set up everything and followed all of the instructions given on the gamepad  then put in a game to update the system like the instructions said. The first time I put in the game its icon / logo came up on the gamepad so I'm asuming it was able to read it then. But after the update was complete and the system reset it is now telling me that I have an 'invalid disc'. I tried to see if there was another system update that I needed but there is none in the settings.I tried it with 3 different games, 2 that came with the Wii u and one that I bought ( splatoon ) and all of them are ' invalid disc '

 

No, there are no smudges or scratches on any of the discs

No, there are no system updates avalible ( the current version it is running as is 5.4.0 U )

Yes, I tried cleaning all of the disks

Yes, I am putting the discs in the right way

Yes, I tried turning it off and then turning it back on

Yes, the system and games are all from this reigon

 

Is there something simple that I'm missing here or is there a problem with my system? I really don't want to have to get a new system considering I just bought this.

Wii U rarely see players

Whenever I go on for glory team smash I cant start the game The “Ready To Start" does not appear and have to wait until the timer runs out before fighting.I see very few people in for glory after this happened. I see mostly japan players after it happened.This is happening to all my games that can play online. I have already manually tried to enter the network ip and the dns with no result. I cant even play online since very little players join me. Also i dont receive no error codes when joining a game

Is it OK to leave a disk inside a Wii U console even when not playing?

I am asking for my friend since he suggests that disks can be left in the console for sometime while I believe it's best to put the disk outside the console when not in use. Any help?

Wii U gamepad trouble

I have not had this problem except for the past three days ago. My gamepad controls were continuously sticking up, even though the stick itself wasn't stuck. Now no matter which direction I press, it goes up, and not slightly, like before. Now it just consistently goes up, as if I'm shoving it up. I've tried the "setting controls to neutral" method, and I've tried rotating the stick and blowing into it. Even resetting the console. I simply do not what to do, and it makes it impossible to play most games. I appreciate any help.

USB Speakers

I just move my Wii U to my room and connected it to my know monitor, but now since my Monitor doesn't have built in Speakers the Wii U Console doesn't have sound. I tried plugging in a USB Speaker but that didn't work. Is there a way to use some type of speakers or something?

Error 150-3032 when copying large files to external HDD

I have the following external HDD:

 

WD My Book 2 TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive with Backup (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00G28Y9BU/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item)

 

I have had no problems copying/moving small files to the HDD from the Wii U. But copying any large file (1GB+) always results in a 150-3202 error part-way through the copy.

 

Has anybody else experienced this problem? I have searched and found many people getting the same error, but not under the same circumstances (copying large files).

 

Notes:

 

1. The model number is WDBFJK0020HBK-UESN. Although not on the official Nintendo compatible list it is similar to the model on the official list (WDBACW0020HBK-EESN). The fact that it manages to copy small files without any problems suggests that it is at least "almost compatible"!

 

2. The HDD has its own AC power supply.

 

3. I have disabled the external drive's sleep-mode via the "hidden" down,+,- menu on the Wii U.

 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Miiverse admin notification problem

I was on miiverse the other and refreshed my page only to find a message saying I was currently restricted from using miiverse on the screen. I then looked at my notifications and all it said was that my post had got removed for sexually explicit content but there was no notification whatsoever saying that I had been banned or for how long I would be banned even though it was obvious I had been banned because I couldn't post,yeah,or anything. It has been one day now and I haven't got any notification telling me how long I will be banned or an notif stating I got banned at all. Does this mean I'm perma banned? I've only been banned once on my account before so this is only my second time and why haven't I got any admin notifs telling how long I'll be banned? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Wii U Gamepad Messing Up in a Weird Way

So last night our Wii U gamepad started acting up. Whenever we turn the console on the gamepads touchscreen and buttons don't work, but whenever we start any game the buttons work and the touchscreen is still broken. The only way to turn the console on is with the power button on the console since when we turn it on with the gamepad it turns on but will not bring up the menu screen. Has anyone seen anything like this before and is there a way to fix it without having to send it into Nintendo? Thanks for any and all adive or help in advance.

I never owned a Wii, and I think I missed out, I want to play Mario Galaxy 2 since you can download it from the store but I don't know if original Wii games use a lot of memory, I have a 4gb SD card, what's the biggest SD card you can put on the Wii U?

External Hard Drive Unformatted Itself on my PC

I have the Wii U Deluxe edition. I have an old external hard drive (not on the compatibility list) and formatted it on the Wii U for storage use. Today I wanted to make a backup copy of the data to move to another storage space. Being a total fool my first idea was to use my computer to transfer the data over like I would with any hard drive. I plugged the external HDD (Seagate Freeagent Desktop) into my computer and it showed up in my taskbar as being a USB device plugged in, but there was no autoplay prompt. The drive wasn't showing in My Computer (Windows 7) so I checked disk management. There it was showing a bunch of unallocated space, but no drive letter. I decided no to mess with it further.

 

When I went and plugged back into the Wii U and turned it on I was prompted with the, "You need to format this drive!" message. I haven't been able to get it to read properly since.

 

I've tried all the different USB ports on the Wii U. I really don't know what else I can try to recover my data. My girlfriend and I have been playing Splatoon non-stop since release and we lost all of our save data and I feel really awful about it.

 

Is there any way our data can be salvagable?

 

The Seagate HDD is powered from the wall outlet and has a single USB to the Wii U.

When I plugged the HDD into my computer it popped up in the taskbar saying, "Installing drivers..." and "Drivers up to date".

 

Please help!

Having problems with opening ports.

Long story short: I got a wii u and a LAN Adapter, i connected too miiverse and the internet browser which worked fine but when i tried to play Super Smash Bros Wii U online i got the 118-0516 error. I looked it up and it wants me to open some ports 1- 65535 to be exact. " 4. Enter the starting port and the ending port required for the console being used. For titles published by Nintendo, you will need to forward UDP ports 1 through 65535. 5. Set the protocol to "UDP." "

I tried to portforward these ports but i cant for some reason, it says "cant apply services to *WiiU-LAN-Adapter*" (*Gave my device that name) ((Rough translation from swedish)). So searched the internet for some answers and saw people saying that their routers cant open all those ports at the same time and got the ports 80, 443, 6667, 12400, 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920 from a guy on one of the forums stating "thats the ports nintendo seems to be using", So this time i tried to only open these ports and it would actually let me open the ports but when i tried to connect online i got the same error message. I disabled the firewall in an desperate final attempt but to no use...

 

Basicly it seems impossible from my viewpoint but thats why i post this on the forums right?
