Off TV Play and Wii U Virtual Console?

Hi, I just got a Wii U two days ago and yesterday I spent money from a Nintendo eShop Card to get two Virtual Console games, Super Mario World and the newly-released Japan-only classic, Earthboiund Beginnings (previously known by worldwide fans as a hack called Earthbound Zero). I know the Wii U has an Off-TV Play feature. It seems that originally, Virtual Console games could not be played that way, but that it was changed at some point and now Virtual Console DOES support Off-TV Play. But how the heck do I activate it when playing Super Mario World or EarthBound Beginnings?!

NNID transfer help

My brother bought his own Wiii U so he needs to get his ID off the one he originally created it on so he can put it on his console.

He bought the Splatoon bundle and he's very eager to get started.

He has that ID connected to a 3DS, so making a new one just for Wii U isn't an option.

Why can't I connect?!

Hello! I've had the special Wind Waker Wii U for the last year and a half or more, and I have absolutely no issue connecting to Monster Hunter 3 U. However, if I try to connect to Mario Kart or Splatoon I have literally no chance of even getting into a lobby! I changed internet providers about a year ago, in which I had no issue with them so I know my Wii U isn't having problems. I'm with Primus, using the white modem they give you when you get hooked up. I was looking for a Wired LAN Adapter for it, but for some reason they're either way to over expensive (a.k.a. the Nintendo shop) or just won't ship to my location.

I spent about 2 hours going through my router settings trying to get it to work, and nothing worked. I then found the steps listed above in this forum. Help! I've tried everything the internet tells me!

Wii U gamepad sync failure?

My former wii u deluxe gamepad had a problem with its nfc touchpoint and it couldn't get fixed. So I sought to ebay to get a new one, and it just came in yesterday. On the day I had got it, I tried syncing it up with my wii u, but it didn't work. I had inputted the correct combination of symbols, and my gamepad said it was connecting to the console so I waited. The gamepad screen went black for a good 2 seconds, and then it just brought me back to the screen with the symbols again. So I tried syncing it again, but this time, the gamepad said it couldn't connect to the console. I kept attemping to sync it, and it finally worked. I had no idea how I did it, and I was glad. After a night of playing virtural console games, I put it back in the charger. When I woke up next morning, I turned the wii u back on, and the gamepad went back to the screen with the symbols. I tried syncing it AGAIN and it wouldn't work. so after many failed attempts, I selected the back button on the wii u, and then it said it was pairing with the gamepad. Then the wii u said the gamepad and the console was paired. The wii u then went back to the wii u menu, and resetted. But there was was a problem, the gamepad was still on the screen with the symbols. Then  the wii u asked to do a update on the gamepad. So I selected ok, and then it said to turn on the gamepad, which was on. I went to the fourms to see if anyone else had this problem, but to no avail. I seem to be the only person having problems with this, and I really need help. I've tried everythig on the fourm, but nothing works.

I also contacted the guy who sold me the gamepad on ebay, and he said I have a problem with the console, because the gamepad synced just fine for him. Please, Splatfest is in 2 days, and can't miss it.

Update install has error, restarts, error code 162-0025?

Hi,

So I brough my Wii U about 3 days ago, had problems connecting to the internet so googled and followed the manual connection instructions which finally got me connected to our wifi, since then I have been trying to do the update, it gets so far as downloading the data for the update, starts to install it, I have seen it get to 30% rapidly then it pops up with the error box with the code 162-0025 and says "An error has occurred. The console will now restart. If problems persits please contact your local customer support centre."

I haven't been able to find much online regarding this issue or the error code, a few forum topics but no one had solutions, 2 people said they changed their DNS to the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 option and it worked but mine is already set on this. I have tried formatiing incase any download data was still on the console, tried updating again and still got the same error.

It's the weekend here and the call centre is shut so I thought I'd see if anyone had heard of any solution to this as it seems to be an issue that has been around for a while and some one may have a reason/fix for it,

Thank you so much I can't wait to get this wii u up and running wifi issues have been a pain since buying it!

edit: when the error occurs the system restarts and I have to begin the whole process again

Sound coming normal from Wii U Gamepad, but nothing from the TV.

I've just had this weird problem with my Wii U and my TV today. I have the black 32 gb bundle, and my tv is a 32 inch Samsung, not a smart tv.
My TV is pretty old, maybe 5 years? But it still works great with everything I have ever used with it. Today, I turned on my Wii U, and there was no sound on the TV, but there was on the game pad. As well, when I turn the input on my tv back to Satellite, the TV and DVD player worked for TV shows and things.
I have my Wii U hooked up HDMI, but to the TV, but not my surround sound for volume. I've made sure my Wii U is set to 720 for resolution, and non-HDMI and Stereo for sound settings. I've messed around with all of these settings in every possible way before changing them back to what I had, and still no progress. I've restarted the Wii U for kicks to see if that was the problem. I unplugged and plugged all the cables back in, making sure it was alright. I cannot think of anything else to try. I've never had this problem before, not even with my old Wii.
Has anyone ever had this problem, and if you've fixed it, how?
I should also mention, my Wii U is under warranty, but just the default year.

Wii U Fit - Snowball fight & Climbing won't start

Mario Kart 8 will not run on my Wii U

So about a few weeks ago my Mario Kart 8 game started to freeze... a lot.

Game loads up just fine however before each race or just after the start of a race my game will freeze.

I hear a loud buzzing sound for about 5 seconds and then the game just sits there.

A hard press on the power button does shut down my system.

I've called Nintendo and they had me go through their list of solutions...(data deletion, unplugged console for 10 secs..etc.) each one didn't work.

They eventually told me that the disc must be broken and they offered to fix it for $30.

I politely declined their offer and borrowed a different copy of the game from my brother in law.

Just now I started it up and the game froze before the race could even start. *shrugs*

I've tried everything at this point and I'm at a loss.... no Idea.

I bought my Wii U brand new at Gamestop in January... it was a Mario 3D world Bundle. Along with a brand new copy of Mario Kart 8

This also does NOT happen with any other games. I can play Smash Bros for hours with no issues.

Any Ideas?

No output to TV and gamepad will not connect all of a sudden

I just bought a copy of Splatoon and was just getting ready to play it but my Wii U is acting up. I get no signal to my TV and even the gamepad says it can't connect to the system. This is really depressing since the last time I used my Wii U was months ago and  its really got low mileage compared to other systems I own. I've tried resetting and disconnecting all wires, leaving it unplugged for the 15 seconds. I might add that this all worked since I originally got the system at launch.

So do you think this is truly dead? Should I go through the repair options with Nintendo? I'd hate to lose the DLC and digital purchases since they are tied to the system and not my account like any other console. Not sure if purchasing a refurb somewhere and seeing if the digital is transferrable by working with support is an option at all. I basically have most of the DLC out there (MK8, HW, Smash, etc. to name a few).

WiiU will not load

My WiiU will not load anything - I have put all my different disc games in, click on the icon on the game pad, it starts to load and then just freezes on the loading screen. So i then have to hold the power off button to turn it off and then turn it back on but it does this with all the icons - settings, shop etc. So ATM it is a useless very expensive paperweight. PLEASE HELP as I have a very sad boy who wants to play his games.

I have had my WiiU since launch no major issues this happened  once before then it just started working normally. I have no idea how to fix this at all. I called customer service it wasn't much help and i don't have a 100 to repair it.

Wii U won't connect to the internet

I can't get my Wii U to connect to the interent.  It says that the problem is the proxy settings aren't correct.  But I'm in a hotel so I don't know what the proxy settings are.  What can I do to make it work?

Can't connect to developer tools

I'm trying to debug a website that isn't working as expected in the Wii U Browser.  After I enable developer tools, I go to my computer and try to open the ip address and port of the developer tools in my web browser, but I just get a timeout error.  I tried pinging the Wii U's ip address from my computer, but received the error "Destination host unreachable".  The Wii U is connected to the internet.  I am able to load the web page that I'm trying to debug.  I just can't connect to the developer tools from my computer.

This is all within my private home LAN.  Nothing fancy, everything is on the same subnet.  The Wii U is wireless, and my PC has a wired connection (on the same LAN).  I think this worked before, but it's been months since I've tried, and I can't think of anything that has changed.

I looked through the Wii U connection settings and didn't see anything obvious that looked like it needed changing.  Any ideas why I can't see my Wii U on my LAN and why I can't connect to the developer tools?

Splatoon has affected my Wii U

I bought my Wii U (Pre-Owned at Gamestop, the box was easier to conceal. Long story.) on April 27th of this year, my birthday. It connected to the internet via mobile hotspot (the only means I have at the moment) with no trouble. I got into Smash Bros matches, Mario Kart races...then I brought home Splatoon. I booted it up, excited to play this game I anticipated for the longest time. A connection error. No problem, just a little hiccup, right? Wrong. Soon, I wasn't even able to join lobbies. Frustrated, I popped in Smash Bros for a little stress relief online and-- More errors? That's never happened before! Lemme get something off the eShop then-- What do you mean "unable to find a Wi-Fi network"??? Frantic, and understandably miffed, I plugged my hotspot into my Wii U. That worked for a weekend, then back to it's old error filled ways. Maybe it's my wi-fi, I think to myself as I try another system. That connected fine, let's try another. That too...probably just a fluke. Four out of five systems connect effortlessly, while my Wii U is still unable to find the Wi-Fi network that is plugged into it. Was my copy of Splatoon cursed? Is my Wii U defective? It's both saddening and maddening having to go through this. I've been getting headaches nightly.

Can I use an external hard drive on both the we you and Xbox 360?

Wii U Gamepad battery died, and error screen won't go away when I recharge it.

While I was playing the battery of the Gamepad died, which I thought I could easily get back to playing the game if I just plugged the controller back in, but the "Unable to communicate with the Wii U GamePad.  Please check the Wii U Gamepad screen. If the Wii U Gamepad battery has run low, please recharge it" error screen would NOT go away. I could press the home button and it would bring that screen up, but upon trying to resume Hyrule Warrors the error screen just would not go away.  I pressed every button I could think of, and tried uplugging it, letting it charge for a few minutes, but nothing worked.  The screen on the Gamepad lit up so i KNOW it was back on, but I ended up having to hold down the power button to shut the game off and I lost gameplay that I couldn't save.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it?

I think this is completely stupid and the game should figure out that if the controller has power again that the error message should go away.

I don't want to have to lose game progress every time the controller accidentally dies.

Sigh.

Splatoon: Constant Disconnects

I have already opened any and every known port related to the game and or WiiU, used both LAN and WiFi, setting my WiiU into DMZ. Along with every other crackpot theory floating around to resolve the insistent disconnects this game is getting and the WiiU in general.

This is NOT a my side issue, i run several servers and have multiple computers and programs on my network, none of them suffer from any data loss or connectivity issues.

As it stands the game is unplayable with being able to finish less then 1 in 5 games and leaves me wanting to go about getting a refund if this is not a resolvable issue. I would greatly prefer to not go that route and would really like to resolve this issue.

Any insight on this is greatly needed and appreciated.

Once more to sum it up,

DMZ Did not work

LAN/WiFi Same results

Any and all known Nintendo ports forwarded

Not a in house network issue

System/Router/Modem fully up to date
